APS-C専用レンズでは14mmでF2.8等が普通の現在においてはF値が若干暗いと評価されることも多いが、ISO感度が自由なデジタルだとあまり問題にならない。また画角が広いことにより多く見られる逆光によるフレアなどもまずまず抑えられていて実用範囲である。レンズフィルターはゼラチンフィルターをレンズ後玉に挿入するタイプだが、APS-Cの画角だとキャップ取付用フードに装着することで通常のレンズフィルターが使用可能である。((CANONのAPS-Cの場合はズーム全域で使用可能であるらしいが、αデジタルの場合15mmよりも広角側でフードを使用するとケラレるので要注意))
